These are the cheapest gyms for strength training in Bangkok, Thailand. Ranging from free to 30 Baht for a day pass.

Here Are The Cheapest Gyms In Bangkok (30 Baht or Less)

You're in the middle of your backpacking trip but you're trying to stay fit and keep all the #gains from back home, you're not in the area for a long time and you really don't want or need a year subscription.

The questions: Is there a cheap gym in Bangkok? And do they do day passes? The answer is yes to both, but you should know that these are mostly outdoor gyms with older machines, the opposite of fancy. You can still get a fantastic workout in though 💪

Khao San & Phra Nakhon

If you're a backpacker, you're probably staying in this area. Lucky for you, you don't have to venture far to get to these gyms.

Saranrom Palace Park Gym (Free)

Located in Saranrom Palace Park, mostly Thai youth here trying to get a good workout in. It can get quite crowded as it's free, but that's the price you pay for a free gym. The gym is quite run down with old equipment, certain machines don't operate but it still has everything you need, both free weights and machines.

Hot tip: Make sure that when you get into the park, you don't mistake the calisthenics structures that are a bit further away as the gym itself. It isn't, there's actually an outdoor gym with equipment.

💰 Cost: Free
🏋️Equipment: Decent condition
📍 Location: Free Gym, Phra Borom Maha Ratchawang, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand https://goo.gl/maps/pzmHnWqq2hSbeTbYA

Rommaninat Park Gym (30 Baht)

Located in Rommaninat Park, the gym has more equipment and in better condition than Saranrom. The equipment is worn down, but it's still in good enough condition to be functional. You can get a great workout in here and it's less crowded than the free gym.

💰 Cost: 30 Baht walk in
🏋️Equipment: Good condition (for outdoors)
📍 Location: Rommaninat Park Gym, Unnamed Road, Samran Rat, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok 10200, Thailand https://goo.gl/maps/qEtEgBCZ7ot8XJTV7

Lumphini Park & Pathum Wan District

Lumphini Park has some of the easiest access through the metro and BTS lines. So wherever you're staying in Bangkok, especially if it's Sukhumvit or Bang Rak you can get there easily.

Lumphini park has multiple outdoor gyms, and the only indoor one doesn't do day passes. Regardless of the gyms, the park is super relaxing and has a circuit around it if you want to get in some cardio. Make sure, you do it on a day where the pollution isn't bad though!

Lumphini Park Outdoor Gym (20 Baht)

There are multiple outdoor gyms in the park and they're all around the same price so I won't be including them here. The reason I've included this one is because it's the one with most equipment, again, a rugged feel but has everything you'd need including squat racks, machines, and free weights.

They do sometimes updated equipment, but it is definitely rare. The beauty is that because it's outdoors, you can definitely walk by and have a look at what they have before committing.

💰 Cost: 20 Baht walk in
🏋️Equipment: Good condition (for outdoors)
📍 Location: Lumphini Park Outdoor Gym Lumphini, Pathum Wan District, Bangkok 10330, Thailand https://goo.gl/maps/gCnvpKXkxkZCykrp9

Hot Tip: You can get protein shakes from any 7/11 or Family Mart you see. They range from 40 to 50 baht. Yes... more expensive than your day pass to one of these gyms.

Yes this is a super short list, there are many gyms around Bangkok but a lot of them are Muay Thai gyms specializing in fighting techniques. With those 2 in the Phra Nakhon area and the few in Lumphini, you should be covered when it comes to strength training.
